On March 19th, 1920, a letter No. quoted 9362/1920) was written te us from the Colonial Office informing us that if
we would send cases of mui tsai in Hong-Kong enquiry would be made concerning them. On November 12th, of the same year, 1920, I
wrote to the Under-Secretary for the Colonies asking te be informed
as to whether the two mui tsei in the following instances were
removed from their purchasers:-

Case brought before the magistrate on Oct. 17th, 1919. 2. Case brought before the magistrate on July 15th, 1920.
I also sent several other questions with regard to this traffic in
children in Hong-Kong, and on Dec. 2nd, 1920 I received a reply
(Ref. No.56365/20) in which I was informed that a copy of my letter
and questions was being sent to the Governor of Hong-Kong for his
⚫bservations,
Now that nearly a year has elapsed,
may I ask if a reply has ever been received to the said questions,
and if se, if you would kindly let me know its purpert”
